Views of Gordon's Bay looking East whilst Jade (the dog) gets a walk with Eric on saturday afternoon

There's that famous sign - is it Gordon's Bay? Great Britain? or General Botha? Whichever it is, it points downwards towards the Naval College buildings below, right next to the very pleasant harbourside-hostelry that serves the Calamari to die for!

You do genuinely have to be careful with this pastime - the rock formations run parallel to the beach, and if you catch a BIG one when the conditions are wrong, the fish can drag you back and forth, snagging you on the rocks ... if you keep fighting & refuse to let go, the consequences can be terminal! Serious!!

Zig-Zag road up hillside in distance leads to the water treatment plant {buildings at top} There's a HUGE reservoir over the brow, which supplies the whole area .... photos 'looking West' in another post, were taken from the car park up there.

The majority of these beach-front properties are empty for much of the year. Either holiday lets, and/or summer retreats for wealthy Joburgians.
