There's that famous sign - is it Gordon's Bay? Great Britain? or General Botha? Whichever it is, it points downwards towards the Naval College buildings below, right next to the very pleasant harbourside-hostelry that serves the Calamari to die for!

| You do genuinely have to be careful with this pastime - the rock formations run parallel to the beach, and if you catch a BIG one when the conditions are wrong, the fish can drag you back and forth, snagging you on the rocks ... if you keep fighting & refuse to let go, the consequences can be terminal! Serious!! |
